Laurence Harbor Man Indicted in String of Toms River Burglaries

Ocean County grand juries hand up indictments

A Laurence Harbor man remains jailed on $105,000 bail in state prison after being accused of a string of Toms River burglaries.

An Ocean County grand jury last week handed up an 11-count indictment that accuses Charles A. DeGoulet-Oliveira, 26, with five burglaries in the township and Brick that occurred in May and June.

DeGoulet-Oliveira is accused of breaking into a Windsor Avenue home May 16; a Chadwick Avenue home between May 23 and 25; a Cornell Avenue home June 13; and a Lillie Road home June 9. Authorities said DeGoulet-Oliveira and Renee M. Simonovich, 24, of Toms River, committed another burglary on Buckingham Drive in Brick on June 17.

DeGoulet-Oliveira's proceeds from the burglaries included jewelry, cash, clothing, silverware, coins, electronics, a knife and a handgun, the indictment charges.

Simonovich also is charged with receiving stolen property for allegedly transporting jewelry taken from the Brick home, authorities said.

DeGoulet-Oliveira is charged with five counts of third-degree burglary and five counts of third-degree theft. 

Simonovich was released on a summons.

Grand juries also indicted:

  • Matthew M. Tursi of North Tunesbrook Drive on charges of receiving stolen property and false incrimination on Sept. 4.

Tursi, 21, is charged with receiving an automobile part worth more than $500 that he knew to be stolen, authorities said. When questioned by police, Tursi allegedly gave them false information in an attempt to implicate another person, the indictment states.

Tursi initially was held in Ocean County Jail on $15,000 bail but posted Sept. 4.

  • William M. Pasqua of Long Branch on a charge of possession of a controlled dangerous substance for allegedly having heroin in the township on Aug. 2.

Pasqua, 20, currently is in state prison on $10,000 bail, no 10 percent option.

  • Jennifer Eberling of Greenview Way on a shoplifting charge.

Eberling, 33, stole more than $500 in merchandise from Kohl's on Sept. 15, authorities said. She was released on a summons.

  • James Policastro of Abaco Street on a possession charge for allegedly having heroin in the township on June 16.

Policastro, 28, was released on a summons.

  • Talmadge O. Foster Jr. of Lakehurst Road on a shoplifting charge.

Foster, 43, allegedly stole a wireless notebook from Kmart on March 21, the indictment states. He was released on a summons.

  • William A. Farone of Wellington Avenue on theft and uttering a forged instrument charges.

Farone is accused of stealing more than $500 from Stop & Shop from Sept. 1 to 24. He also is charged with trying to cash a check at the TD Bank in Manchester against the account of another person.

He was released on a summons.
