Man Airlifted To Hospital Following Motorcycle Accident in Manchester

Biker was traveling at a high rate of speed, according to police

A motorcycle traveling eastbound on Route 70 in Manchester Township was involved in a single vehicle crash at 5:48 p.m. Saturday.

The motorcyclist, 25-year-old David Aumiller, was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center.

Aumiller is a member of the U.S. Armed Services, and was recently stationed on Lakehurst Naval Base.

He was ejected from his Yamaha motorcycle while traveling at a high rate of speed and landed in the eastbound lane of travel, according to a police official.

Passerby motorists pulled Aumiller from the lane to prevent further injuries from passing motorists, the official said.

Aumiller was treated on scene by Quality First Aid and Mon Oc paramedics. Also assisting was the Whiting Fire Department.

The crash is being investigated by Patrolman Tom O’Hare of the Manchester Township Traffic Safety Division.
