Man Charged In Connection With Two Toms River Burglaries

A 24-year-old man has been charged with in connection with two recent burglaries at separate Toms River residences, police said.

At 1:30 p.m. Friday, Toms River Police Detectives arrested Juan Morales of Egg Harbor Township and the Americana Motel in Toms River on burglary and theft charges.

He was apprehended at the Americana Motel and a search warrant was executed on a room he was renting.

He is charged with in connection to a Wednesday residential burglary at a residence on the 900 block of Knollwood Court where a back door was found kicked-in.

He is alleged to have stolen approximately $21,000 in jewelry, police said.

He is also charged with burglary and theft in connection with a residential burglary on the 100 block of James Street that was committed on April 17, There, the rear door was also kicked-in and an X-box, play station, cellular phones, cash, and gift cards were taken.

The investigation is headed by Detectives Roger Hull and Robert O’Neill with assistance from Patrol officers Kevin Oliver, Brent Mundy, and Anthony Claps.  The ocean County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigative Unit provided additional technical assistance.

Bail was set at $70,000.00 and he is being lodged in the Ocean County Jail
