Man Charged With Heroin Possession While Picking Up His Child From School

Police suspicious after drugs found dropped on the school steps

The father of an elementary school student has been arrested on drug charges after an investigation at Forked River Elementary School.

Lacey Police said Alexsander Arbuzow of Toms River was charged Monday with two counts of heroin possession after he allegedly showed up to the school with drugs in his possession.

Lacey Lt. James M. Veltri said Officer Alan Abrecht responded to the school last Friday after a staff member found a "suspicious" clear bag on the steps of the main entrance. The bag contained 16 wax folds of heroin, Veltri said.

Detective Ronald Buxton investigated while working with school staff in order to identify the owner of the heroin. The probe revealed that the heroin was Arbuzow's, Veltri said.

On Monday, Buxton arrested Arbuzow as he attempted to pick up his child at school. Veltri said he had 25 wax folds of heroin in his possession at the time.
