Man Indicted in Robbery of Toms River Woman
Indictments handed up by an Ocean County grand jury
A Northfield man has been indicted on counts of robbery, attempted robbery, shoplifting and eluding police in a series of incidents in Toms River, Newark and Millburn in December.
Maurice Cohen of Northfield was indicted on seven counts by an Ocean County grand jury on seven counts in relation to the incidents on Dec. 10 and 14 in Toms River and Millburn. He was indicted on second-degree robbery and theft, for allegedly taking a bank card by force from Judith Huether in Toms River on Dec. 14 and on one count of third-degree shoplifting, for allegedly taking four leather coats, a sweater and a scarf from Macy's in Toms River on Dec. 10.
Cohen also was indicted by the Ocean County grand jury on counts of robbery, attempted robbery, eluding, and theft, for allegedly robbing two women in Millburn and stealing a Toyota Tercel from a third person in Newark, and shoplifting, for allegedly taking four leather coats from Nordstrom.

Cohen, who was jailed Dec. 28, remains in the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, on $150,000 cash bail and is barred from contact with Huether.
