Motorcyclist flew 160 feet after being ejected from bike

A motorcyclist was charged with driving while intoxicated after being involved in an accident on College Drive, police said.

R.J. Guerriero, 39, of Lakewood, lost control of his 1993 Kawasaki motorcycle and failed to negotiate a curve, eventually crossing over into the oncoming lane of traffic around 10 p.m. Monday night, said Police Chief Michael Mastronardy.

The motorcycle struck a 2001 Nissan being driven by Mark Scillath, 20, of Toms River.

Guerriero was ejected from the motorcycle and traveled over 160 feet, Mastronardy said.

He was transported to Jersey shore Medical Center in Neptune where he was charged with DWI.
