I wish drivers would be more careful and take that extra for seconds to LOOK. Motorcycles are many on the roads. Please share the road with motorcycles. Pay attention!
Donna September 09, 2012 at 11:18 PM

Unfortunately, its age-ism...and they are the voting majority, so it will never happen, even though I COMPLETELY agree...thoughts are with everyone involved.

In today's busy world, there is no place for motorcycles. It makes no sense to drive one.
Xavier September 10, 2012 at 11:11 AM
I would never ride a motorcycle in NJ. Too many drivers asleep at the wheel. Doesn't matter how well you can handle a bike, all it takes is one inattentive driver to end it all for you.

in this busy world there is no room for people that think like like you there is no room for seniors on drugs and most of them are rx drugs they should be given a drug test after each accident and this is a fact THEY CANT HEAR SEE AND REACT

If you do the math, the cyclists was only doing about or around 18 mph. The problem is that the older we get, we lose our depth perception which makes it a challenge to drive. They are many transportation resources now in Ocean County for seniors to use. Perhaps seniors do not want to use them because they don't want to lose their independence. Also let's no forget that driving is a privilege, not a right. Drivers should be retested for their privilege to drive.

Under 65 and on meds, "impaired driving", but over 65 and on meds, OK?
Donna September 10, 2012 at 01:25 PM
I agree totally
Donna September 10, 2012 at 01:25 PM
Glenn we pray for you and your family and we love you We are all here for you get better

Easy to blame everybody, but drivers and motorcyclists BOTH need to pay attention when driving a machine. My husband rides motorcycles but we have both seen careless behavior on their part. Just over this weekend a guy and his rider whizzed up the center line on Brick Blvd. to get through traffic and a young guy on a bike did the same on the Fischer Blvd. turnaround to beat traffic. That's looking for trouble. We ALL need to be reminded that we are operating a heavy machine (car or bike) capable of killing someone if operated carelessly. Drive mindfully.

They should just ban all mortorcycles on the roads. Offroad only.
dan garrity September 10, 2012 at 09:51 PM
they should just ban smoket for not having a brain
Scott September 11, 2012 at 12:41 PM
I don't have a motorcycle however I feel that the motorcyclists who ride Harley-Davidsons are not the problem. Its the kids on the sports bike who give motorcyclist a bad name.
barbara September 11, 2012 at 01:51 PM
Agree with that, DT John. I know the majority of bikers are responsible, hard-working folks who just like to ride. One of those idiots mentioned in my comment was operating a sports type bike (the same ones that keep us awake at 2 a.m. whizzing down Fischer.)

It's a sad world when a hard working family man can't go out for an early morning ride (so not to take time away from his family) an get the last bit freedom he's allowed.I know Glen and wish I was riding beside him sat. am. Maybe this driver could have heard / seen two of us! GOD BLESS GLEN & his family!
Donna September 12, 2012 at 01:27 AM
They should ban motorcycles because people can not pay attention on the road Next we will just ban walking Maybe they should have elderly people re take their road test
Lenny October 02, 2012 at 10:44 PM
So let me get this straight, a 79 year old turns left IN FRONT OF an oncoming motorcyle, and the motorcycle should be banned?? I'm 67, been riding bikes for well over 50 years, on and off road. Everyone over the age of 65 should be re-tested, every 5 years. I live in a senior community, well over half of these stodge-asses should NOT be driving a car.
Donna October 02, 2012 at 11:47 PM
