Update: No Injuries In Early Morning Accident; Cedar Grove Road Blocked Off

Vehicle struck utility pole around 2 a.m.

No injuries were reported after a motor vehicle struck a utility pole in an accident on Cedar Grove Road 2:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Francesca Lima, 18, of Toms River, was operating a 2008 Volkswagen north on Cedar Grove Road when her vehicle began to hydroplane and left the road striking a utility pole in front of 198 Cedar Grove Road, according to Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy.

The accident resulted in Cedar Grove Road being closed to traffic for several hours between Brookside Drive and Indian Hill Road.

Traffic was detoured for several hours from the accident site while firefighters tend to the scene, police said.
