No Injuries Reported from Jamestown Apartment Fire

Toms River Fire Companies 1 and 2 responded to the Sunday morning blaze

No injuries were reported from an early morning fire Sunday at the Jamestown Apartments. 

Toms River Police Department Officer Joshua Kuhlwein responded to the fire, which was reported at building 19 at about 2 a.m., said Chief Michael Mastronardy. 

"The resident stated he was awoken by someone knocking on his door stating his balcony was on fire," the chief said. "The resident reported he had a cigarette on his balcony about an hour before the fire."

Toms River Volunteer Fire Companies 1 and 2 responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze. No injuries were reported and all residents were allowed to return to their apartments shortly after the fire was extinguished, Mastronardy said.
