No Criminal Investigation In Bay Shore Drive Shooting

Man airlifted in critical condition after self-inflicted gunshot wound

No criminal investigation will be conducted by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office in connection with a .

Spokesman Michael A. Paulhus declined to say why the prosecutor's office decided to pull back from investigating the self-inflicted shooting of an unidentified man on Sunday.

"The circumstances do not give rise or provide the basis for a criminal investigation," said Paulhus.

He declined to provide further information.

The man was airlifted by Monoc to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, in critical condition around 5:25 p.m. Sunday.

The incident took place near Bay Shore Drive and Minturn Road in Toms River Township, Toms River police confirmed.

The area is located near the southern end of Fischer Boulevard.

Toms River Police referred the case to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. Toms River Patch will update as more information becomes available.

why decline to give further information? hope he is ok. sad that people sometimes just cant cope. if he made it, dont know if he young or old, just hope he gets the help he needs.
