NY Woman Indicted on Resisting Arrest Charge

Ocean grand jury indicts residents on drug charges

A New York City woman is facing aggravated assault and resisting arrest charges stemming from a July 8 incident with Toms River police.

Elsie Lopez, 46, of West 64th Street, is accused of assaulting Patrolman Nathaniel Williams and resisting his attempt to arrest her, according to an indictment handed up last week by an Ocean County grand jury.

Lopez is free on $5,000 bail.

Also indicted were:

  • Thomas J. Fatula, 35, of Cypress Point Drive, Toms River, for allegedly breaking into a woman’s home on Edken Avenue on June 20 and stealing jewelry worth more than $500. He also is accused of trying to break into a home on Dayton Avenue on the same day.
  • Eric Mills, 25, of Sheridan Avenue, Seaside Heights, for allegedly burglarizing the A & P store in Ortley Beach by remaining in the business after it closed on May 3.
  • Shayne T. Macavoy, 20, of Route 9, Toms River, and Chelsea J. Horton, 19, of Hazelton Avenue, Lanoka Harbor, for allegedly possessing heroin May 11 in Toms River. Macavoy also is accused of planning to distribute heroin and having methadone. 
  • Kaitlyn C. Graham, 26, of Bay Avenue, Toms River, for allegedly stealing jewelry and a computer from a Jackson man on March 7.
  • Jacquelyn A. Ryan, 22, of Long Drive, South Toms River, for allegedly stealing baby clothes and formula from the Target store in Manahawkin on April 30.
  • Joseph S. Hasse, 25, of Elizabeth Avenue, Toms River, for allegedly stealing jewelry, cash and prescription drugs from Katrina Salgovic on May 20.
  • Shakira A. Hope, 28, of Brookside Drive, Toms River, and Shondale L. Lattimore, of Joe Parker Road, Lakewood, for allegedly having heroin in Lakewood on Feb. 24.
  • Amiko L. Huggins, 30, of Kettle Creek Road, Toms River, for allegedly having heroin June 6 in Lakewood.
