'Oddly Quiet' at the Jersey Shore, say State Police
Minor accident on GSP, two airlifted from Seaside Park
Considering it’s the official start of summer at the Jersey Shore, traffic mishaps and accidents have been minimal, according to NJ state police.
“It’s oddly quiet,” said Lieutenant David Robbins. “The three lanes on the [Garden State] Parkway have helped.”
Earlier in the week, the last of the barrels were removed from the Garden State Parkway between Toms River and Manahawkin, which signaled the long-awaited opening of a highway that is now three lanes in each direction.

A vehicle overturned this weekend in Toms River at mile marker #87 on the southbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway. Minor injuries were reported. “The vehicle was removed and traffic is flowing,” said Robbins.
