Pair of Teens Charged in Hunt Drive Vandalism Incidents

16-year-olds damaged mailboxes and cars, according to police

A pair of teenagers from Brick were charged with criminal mischief after police said they damaged cars and mailboxes near Hunt Drive Saturday night.

Officers Adam Worth and Ron Bayer responded to a report on the street at 11:30 p.m. Saturday night, said Toms River Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy.

A resident who witnessed the vandalism helped lead to the arrest of the 16-year-old males, who Mastronardy said were in the area attending a party.

"The juveniles were released to their parents and complaints were signed against them for over six incidents of mailboxes and cars damaged," the chief said.

They had to come from Brick to do damage on Hunt Drive! I hope they are made to reimburse everyone for the damage that they did!

The parents are going going to say it was something like PTSD from the storm' and they will get off.

The parents will prob help them get off! And that's the problem with kids today. I tell you what, if my boys ever did anything close to that, they wouldn't be able to sit for a week! Let alone lift their arms (from all the extra manual labor id make them do)! When I was young, I didn't want to do anything bad cause I didn't want to have to deal with the punishment. These kids aren't scared of "time out". And I think that's a major part of the problem

You are so right. Kids today aren't afraid of anything.

A few months in Juvy would help teach them a lesson.
i don't get it?? February 4, 2013 at 07:16 pm
Kids aren't afraid because the parents can't punish them without DYFS getting involved, or because the parents don't care either...sad, sad world...

Time to put them to work...They need to be the ones to replace and fix and pay for all damage. Charge them, to make sure they are on the records for their behavior. Also send the parents to some sort of parenting class. They surely haven't taught their children the golden rule.

Great story! Glad to hear your on your way back. Also happy to see someone else noticing that inRead More some places it still looks like Sandy hit yesterday. Some mayors might consider that "complaining".
