Pole Fire Briefly Knocks Out Power
Nearby Wawa, homes without power after blown fuse triggers fire
A fire on a utility pole that started when a fuse blew knocked out power to a Wawa and a few homes in the area of Hooper Avenue and South Shore Drive late this morning, firefighters said.
The fire, which started just after 11, was extinguished within minutes by firefighters from the Silverton Fire Company.
Power was restored a little after 1 p.m., according to Jersey Central Power & Light.
