Police respond to roofer's 20-foot fall

A roofer fell while working on a Toms River home, and his injuries required a helicopter ride to the hospital yesterday, police said.

Toms River Police Officer Gary Flynn responded to Branch Brook Court home for a first aid call at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, said Police Chief Michael Mastronardy.

The chief said Joshua McFerren, 23 of Browns Mills, was re-roofing a residence when he fell about 20 feet from a ladder.
