Police Arrest Lakewood Man for Theft of Electrical Breakers at Home Depot

Alleged shoplifter charged with second-degree robbery, say police

Chief Michael Mastronardy of the Toms River Township Police Department reported that Anthony Kanaris, 24, of Corbin Street in Lakewood, was arrested by Officer Michael MacDonald, after he was found to have stolen electrical breakers from Home Depot on Friday night.

“Kanaris was involved in shoplifting $119 worth of electric breakers from Home Depot 5:30 Friday evening. When approached by a loss prevention employee, Kanaris ran through the garden center and tried to climb a fence,” said Mastronardy.

Kanaris then became physical with the loss prevention officer, and was therefore charged with second-degree robbery and held on $25,000 bail, set by Judge Damian Murray, police said.
