Police Arrest Man Three Times on Car Break-in Charges Throughout Week

Resident charged in three separate incidents of vehicle burglaries in seven days.

Police arrested a Toms River resident three times in seven days for separate incidents of vehicle burglaries.

Anthony Serafino, 28, of Walchest Drive in Toms River 1 p.m. Feb. 9 on a burglary charge. Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said a witness contacted police after she saw a man attempting to open doors of vehicles parked in the K-Mart shopping plaza on Route 37 eastbound. Mastronardy said the suspect broke into one vehicle in the parking lot, and police arrived to investigate.  Toms River Police Officer Robert O’Neil made the arrest, and Serafino was placed in Ocean County Jail on $50,000 bail.

After being released on bail, Serafino was again arrested on Feb. 14, Mastronardy said, for a similar incident that allegedly took place in Brick Township. Serafino was arrested at home and charged with a Brick vehicle burglary, and was released after posting $50,000 bail, said the police chief.
