Police Blotter: Doctor's Office Burglarized, Silverton Car Fire and More

Recent police reports and arrests for Toms River

• A doctor's office at Hooper Avenue and South Shore Drive was burglarized sometime over the weekend, said Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy. A suspect entered the office and removed about $400 from three desks along with a metal gray cash drawer and a Dell laptop computer from the office at 1749 Hooper Avenue. Toms River Police Officer Mark Nater is investigating.

• At 9 a.m. on Monday Officer Sean Smith investigated an attempted theft of steel wind chimes from a home on Greenwich Court. A male dressed in a gray sweat pants and shirt was seen taking the chimes from the victim’s door. When the 55 year old homeowner confronted him, the suspect ran off and got into a silver vehicle and quickly drove off, Mastronardy said.

• Silverton Fire Company responded to a report of a car fire Oct. 22. The red vehicle was parked outside the Walgreens at Church Road and Hooper Avenue in Silverton.

• On Oct. 3, Toms River resident Lee W. Currie, 26, of Toms River was charged with burglary in Manchester, after being arrested by authorities in Jackson and Manchester Patrolman Robert Chevrier.
