Police Blotter: Stolen Manhole Covers; Delivery Theft; Car Thefts

Cast iron grates valued at over $700.

Police Chief Michael Mastronardy released the following reports:

Officer Patrick Jacques is investigating the theft of two cast iron man-hole covers and two cast iron grates, valued at over $700, from a wooded area on Route 37 west near Banannier Drive. 

The theft occurred over the last few days.

The items are scheduled to be replaced by their owner,  the New Jersey state Department of Transportation.

Officer Louis Taranto is investigating a theft that occurred on Grand Avenue 10:30 Friday morning. 

A neighbor observed that a short-time after a United Parcel Service truck made a delivery to a residence on the street a vehicle pulled up to the home, a black male exited the vehicle and took an envelope that had just been delivered. 

The suspect is a black male with a thin build, wearing an argyle sweater. The suspect was operating what is believed to be a white Audi sedan with Massachusetts license plates. It is believed the envelope may have contained new credit cards that were scheduled to be delivered.

Items Stolen From Unlocked Cars In Cranmoor Area

Officers Paul Burkhardt and Dan Brennan are investigating thefts from the Cranmoor area that occurred overnight and were reported on Friday morning. 

A pair of binoculars were removed from an unlocked car on Maple Street. A Garmin GPS unit, keys and small change were removed from three unlocked vehicles on Cranmoor Drive.
