Police Looking For Man Who Assaulted Woman In Toms River

Around 9 p.m. on Thursday, the woman was at the foot of the seaside bridges when she was approached from behind

A 19-year-old Toms River woman reported was reportedly assaulted Thursday when she was walking on Route 37 westbound Thursday,

Around 9 p.m., the woman was at the foot of the seaside bridges when she was approached from behind by a white male who grabbed her and stated “Hi baby where you going tonight," police said.

The suspect then inserted one hand under the victims shirt and the other down her pants. She then kicked him and he fled on foot.

Two witnesses stopped as they were driving by when they heard the victim scream.

The victim and witness described the suspect as a white male in his 20s,  5 feet 11 inches, 195 pounds, stocky build , long dark hair with a tan complexion and wearing a light colored shirt.
