Police Respond To YMCA After Two-Year-Old Pulled From Pool

Boy breathing on his own, received medical assistance from lifeguards

Toms River Police responded just after 4:30 p.m. Saturday to the YMCA on Whitty Road for a two-year-old Pine Beach boy who was reportedly in distress after being pulled from one of the center's two pools, according to Police Chief Michael Mastronardy.

When Lieutenant James Harris and Officer T.J. Polhemus arrived the child was breathing on his own. 

YMCA lifeguards provided medical assistance once the boy was pulled from the water, according to Mastronardy.

The boy, who was at the facility with family members, was transported to Community Medical Center by Toms River Police EMS. His condition was not available.
