UPDATE: Police Continue Search for Suspect in Bank Robbery

Man last seen running toward TGI Friday's on Route 72.

Stafford police are asking for help in locating a suspect who entered the TD Bank on Route 72 around 11:30 a.m. this morning and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect allegedly handed a note to a teller announcing a robbery. He did not display a weapon, police said. No one was injured in the robbery.

The suspect is described as a thin Asian or Hispanic male, 5'5" tall, with dark hair and a dark colored goatee on his face (pictured above). The man was wearing a black jacket, gray sweatpants, and multicolored sunglasses, according to Lt. Tom Dellane.

The man fled the bank on foot, and was last seen running along Route 72 toward TGI Friday's. A search of the area by police, including two K9 search teams, did not locate the subject.

Four elementary schools in the immediate area of the bank were placed on a modified lockdown as a precaution. The schools were the: Ronald L. Meinders Primary Learning Center, McKinley Avenue School, Stafford Intermediate School and All Saints Regional Catholic School.

"The safety and well-being of our customers and employees is very important to us; we are glad no one was physically injured," Judy Rusk, a spokesperson for TD Bank said in a statement released to Patch. "We are cooperating with local officials and are unable to comment further so as to not jeopardize the investigation."

Anyone with any information concerning this robbery is asked to contact Det. Frank Heim of the Stafford Township Police Detective Bureau at 609-597-1189 ext. 8296 or the Stafford Township Police TIPS line at 609-597-1189 ext. TIPS (8477).
