Drug-related charge was 99th DWI arrest for township police officer, chief says

The arrest of a man for using heroin prior to being involved in a traffic accident represented the 99th DWI arrest for a township police officer.

Traffic Safety Officer Robert Westfall arrested George Decrosta, 43, of Birch Street after investigating an accident at Route 9 and Cox Cro Road at 9 p.m. Sunday night, according to Police Chief Michael Mastronardy.

Decrosta admitted to ingesting heroin earlier in the day, said Mastronardy.

The accident occurred while Decrosta was operating a 1998 Mazda that left the road and struck a utility pole, Mastronardy said.

The arrest was Westfall's 99th DWI arrest.
