Police Vehicles Involved in Accident at Church and North Bay

Incident was after 7 p.m. May 29

Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy confirmed a motor vehicle accident at Church Road and North Bay Avenue this evening involved a collision of police vehicles.

The accident occurred around 7:15 p.m. this evening, Mastronardy said.

He said the accident involved no serious injuries and no one involved was transported to the hospital.

Mastronardy said an incident report was being filed and further details would be released shortly.

The incident was in the intersection, which is near the township public works facility.

At the northwest corner of the intersection at 8 p.m., the remains of the clean-up of the accident were visible, with sand to absorb any motor vehicle fluids that had spilt as a result of the impact, and shards of vehicle lights near the scene.

At 8 p.m., traffic to the area was clear and moving freely.
