Probation for Toms River Mom Charged in School Bus Assault

29-year-old admitted to assaulting a student who she said 'bullied' her daughter

The Toms River mom who was arrested and charged with boarding a Toms River Regional school bus, screaming profanities and ultimately assaulting students on the bus was sentenced to two years of probation on Monday.

Rebecca Sardoni, 29, of Toms River, pleaded guilty to one count of fourth degree criminal tresspass, plus simple assault and harassment, a disorderly persons offense and a petty disorderly persons offense, respectively.

Sardoni claimed at the time of her arrest that students on the bus were "bullying" her daughter, who was also a student on the bus.

None of the students involved in the Oct. 19, 2012 incident were seriously injured, authorities said.
