Report: Former Toms River Schools Employee Indicted in Child Sex Assault

52-year-old man worked in the district's IT department

A 52-year-old retired Toms River Regional school district employee has been indicted on charges of multiple sex crimes against two children, the Asbury Park Press reported on Monday.

William J. Herflicker III, a Toms River resident, worked in the district's IT department, the Press reported.

Herflicker was suspended in October with pay from his $57,575 per year job, in which he had no contact with children, district spokeswoman Tammi Millar told the newspaper.

The alleged crimes occurred in 2007 and 2008, The Press reported.

Herflicker remains out on bail; he was not listed as an inmate in the Ocean County Jail on Monday.
