Report of Live Wires Down Near Coolidge and Windsor Avenues

Roof collapse caused downing of electrical wires, say JCP&L and police

Residents in the 1-100 block of Coolidge Avenue near its intersection with Windsor Avenue reported live wires down on a vehicle on Saturday morning.

“We received a 9-1-1 call of a roof collapse on Coolidge Avenue just before 10 a.m., and that collapse brought the wires down,” said Maria Sessa of Jersey Central Power & Light. “We dispatched a technician to respond shortly after we heard the call.”

Lt. Michael Belcher of the Toms River Township Police Department confirmed that the police did receive a call from a home on Coolidge Avenue regarding live wires down on a vehicle in the roadway.

“This was also investigated by the fire department and the township building department. We’re on scene now, the live wires are now dead wires and we’re assuring that the danger is abated,” said the lieutenant.
