Local officials expect road closures on routes 9 and 166 between March 10 and March 14 due to the ongoing Garden State Parkway construction project.
Project crews will be erecting structural steel at the Route 9 and Route 166 Parkway overpass near Lomell Lane in Toms River during the week of March 10th, Toms River Police spokesman Ralph Stocco said.
"We expect there to be total road closures of Route 9 and Route 166 in both the north and southbound directions that go under the Parkway from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night from Monday, March 10 to Friday, March 14," Stocco said.
The area of the closure would be just south of Route 571 near the Home Depot. Motorists are being strongly urged to use an alternate route to avoid being caught in detoured traffic.
