Toms River Police are still searching for the men who robbed two banks on the same day within 90 minutes.

It is unknown if the two separate robberies, which both occurred Friday evening, are related, according to Chief Mitch Little. Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects through surveillance photos released Monday.

In the first robbery, which occurred at 4:36 p.m., a man gave a note to the teller at the TD Bank branch on Mule Road demanding money, then fled. He is described as a black male in his late 20s to early 30s who was wearing a green jacket with his hood up, along with a wool hat and sunglasses.

The second robbery occurred at the Santander Bank on Route 37. In that robbery, the suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s to early 30s.

Anyone with information on either robbery is being asked to contact Detective Randy Petrick at 732-349-0150, ext. 1235.

He should have never gotten in the bank with the hood and sunglasses on like that. If there was an armed officer at the door he would have been stopped and told to remove them and it would have taken away his confidence because he would have been watched while in there, simple, armed officers should be back in the banks like years ago.

another example of crossing party lines?

Oh but his civil rights would have been offended. Then he would have Al Sharpton come to T.R., set up camp here, sue the bank and become a fan favorite on social media.
Mac January 27, 2014 at 11:31 AM
the white guy does have the edge here though - sorry Al but do you see what he's wearing? - who is going to admit they know him?

Remember he could just as easy be Obama's son.

The actual bank robbery is committed every day against us when they give you 0.0001 interest on our money.

Oh Patch...don't get me stared!
NewJerseyGuy January 27, 2014 at 01:52 PM
The cops might actually catch these guys if they were not so busy stopping motorists for license plate frame violations

@officerski I said the exact same thing when they first posted this story. My brother was in banking his whole career and he always said the worst day was Halloween.

Officerski - my husband went into our bank last week and was told by the bank manager that if he didn't remove his baseball hat he would have to leave. My husband is Irish. He removed his hat and did his banking. I wonder why anyone working in either bank failed to request the same of the two individuals pictured??
ThudNJ January 27, 2014 at 07:19 PM
What and end up having the media roast the poor bank manager for being a racist? I doubt that happens very often except as you described to people who look like your husband. Seriously it is not fair to ask the bank employees to do that. Maybe the cop that opfficerski wants to station there. But even he would be open to being persecuted for being racist the way things are today.

What the heck happened to proud?
suz January 27, 2014 at 07:48 PM
I so agree with some of the comments...if this guy was asked to remove his 'hoodie' and or glasses, he just might of called it racist. Also, the bank employee, especially the tellers, should no be responsible for asking customers to remove these items. Should be the banking executives. Yes, where is Proud???
ThudNJ January 28, 2014 at 12:27 AM
Proud and maruca are both AWOL
Gino De Lucia January 28, 2014 at 02:58 AM
And "they" still ask: "why we get profiled?" Duh...look at the stats: "they" commit 90% of these types of crimes: robberies, muggings, murders, etc; could it be that that's why?
Mac January 28, 2014 at 08:16 AM
Gino, do we profile Lakewood or Toms River? This story is 50/50. As for the 50 safest communities in NJ, Lakewood is rated safer than Toms River to live (or else Toms River may have more banks with Gilmore good old goo-goo girl security) - NJ community safety ratings: Manchester, #25 - Fort Lee, #26 - Barnegat, #38 - Lakewood, #45 - Fort Lee would have been rated higher without the Governor's orange cone caper and Ocean County is hoping to coax Lakewood to come out of the closet and admit it borders Toms River so three Ocean County communities can be rated in the top 50 instead of the two originally reported.

People, there were 2 separate bank robberies, one was committed by a black male, the other by a white male. Why are we only ridiculing and complaining about the African American male? We really have to learn to become "Equal Opportunity Bashers".

haha @ mac i kinda like that jacket
grace January 28, 2014 at 10:00 AM
@ my dear suz i hate to open my wheaties this morning but its so true that people are afraid to open up the can of worms with a black individual..the race card the law suit and so on...BUT all who enter a bank with hats and face covered need to remove it pronto!!..
grace January 28, 2014 at 10:03 AM
hi @ linda baloney..well actually @ mac did mention the other fellows attire..lol
Mac January 28, 2014 at 10:19 AM
while profiling, don't forget to include enticements - barrier islands plundered after hurricane while police keep armed homeowners away - boardwalk burns down because no one is home - federal hurricane relief corruption files stolen from the wolf's closet with a rock thrown through a ground floor window - TOMS RIVER <> EASY PICKINGS
Linda Maloney January 28, 2014 at 10:29 AM
@grace I wasn't referring to @Mac posts, he appears to be an equal opportunity basher. It's some of the other posts, you know how I feel on this issue. We've had our disagreements Grace, but you are always respectful of others opinions and we've been on many of the same threads (LOL). I'll talk with you soon, OK, my dear, Good Night!!
Silence Dogood January 28, 2014 at 05:07 PM

how many banks is that in the last 6 months ? 5 or 6 ? its going to get worse and worse sad to say . were all just victims in waiting living here. The state believes you have no justifiable need to protect yourself or loved ones outside your home. Tell that to the wife of Mr Friedland
