Several Indictments for Bad Checks, Stolen Credit Cards

Grand jury hands up indictments recently for unrelated incidents

According to court records, county grand juries recently handed up the following indictments:

Emil J. Menching, 23, of Hemlock Hill Drive, Toms River, forging 8 checks between Sept. 9-20 in Toms River and stealing more than $500 by deception from the account owners.

Deandre D. Boone, 22, of Justice Court, Toms River, and Rahmel S. Jones, 21, of Medina Road, Lakewood, fraudulently using a stolen credit cards and phony $20 bills at a gas station, convenience and drug store in Toms River between Nov. 1 and 19. Jones is accused of lying to a Toms River detective on Nov. 23 to hinder his apprehension. Boone faces a similar charge for lying to another Toms River detective on Nov. 16. Both are accused of theft by deception from the businesses where they used the credit cards and bogus currency.

Christine Zahner, 44, of Route 37 East, Toms River, passing two bad checks totaling $1,570 on Jan. 12 in South Toms River and stealing the services of her landlord by paying her rent with the bad checks.
