Six Charged in Drug Production, Distribution Bust in Toms River

Month-long investigation led to drug charges for three adults and three juveniles, police said

A month-long investigation by Toms River authorities culminated in multiple drug charges last week for the six individuals who allegedly possessed, manufactured and distributed substances, authorities announced Tuesday. 

The six charged by police—including three juveniles—were arrested and charged on May 22 after police executed a "no knock" search warrant at 903 Bent Trail, said Toms River Chief of Police Michael Mastronardy.

As a result of the search warrant, more than 10 grams of PCP, a quantity of recently cooked cocaine, 29 wax folds of heroin, seven oxycodone 30mg pills, under 50 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was seized from the residence and it’s occupants, according to Mastronardy.

Authorities also seized $1,408 in U.S. currency, the chief said.

Jair Oliver and Ansel Applewhite, both 20-years-old and of Sawmill Drive in Brick, were charged with possession of PCP, possession with the intent to distribute PCP over 10 grams, possession with the intent to distribute PCP within 500 feet of a public park (the Toms River Little League Field), possession of cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute under half an ounce of cocaine, maintaining a crack cocaine manufacturing facility, possession of 29 wax folds of heroin, possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Mastronardy. 

Bail for Oliver and Applewhite was set by Superior Court Judge Wendel Daniels at $250,000 with no 10 percent option, Mastronardy said.

Kasie Thomas, 21, of Blue Spruce Place in Brick,  was charged with possession of PCP, possession with the intent to distribute PCP over 10 grams, possession with the intent to distribute PCP within 500 feet of a public park (the Toms River Little League Field), possession of cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute under half an ounce of cocaine, and maintaining a crack cocaine manufacturing facility, according to Mastronardy. 

Bail for Thomas was set by Daniels at $15,000 with no 10 percent option, the chief said. 

The names of the three male juveniles charged were not released by authorities. They were charged with possession of PCP, possession with the intent to distribute PCP over 10 grams, possession with the intent to distribute PCP within 500 feet of a public park (the Toms River Little League Field), possession of cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute under half an ounce of cocaine, maintaining a crack cocaine manufacturing facility and possession of drug paraphernalia, Mastronardy said.
