Small House Fire Closed East Dover Roadway

Sunday night incident required fire extinguishers

A small fire confined to the floorboards and crawl space of an East Dover home closed the narrow Fifth Avenue roadway near Windsor and Garfield Avenues Sunday evening.

Fire Station 26 responded around 5:30 p.m. Sunday and firefighters there contained the fire using fire extinguishers.

No injuries were reported at the single family home and Toms River Police directed traffic as a portion of Fifth Avenue closed to accommodate the fire response vehicles.
