South Toms River, Brick Men Face Gun Charges

Men arrested on gun charges, warrants after police were called to Route 70 hotel

Three local residents are facing gun charges after Lakewood police arrested them at a Route 70 hotel after a noise complaint.

Officers went to a room at the Best Western hotel on the highway Nov. 9, following up on a report of disorderly guests, township police said in a statement. Upon arrival, the officers located six males, two of whim, Imere Meredith of Brick and Keyshawn Craig of Lakewood, were both found to have warrants for their arrest.

Further investigation, resulted in the discovery of a handgun inside the room, police said, and immediately after the discovery one of the men fled from the room on foot as the others were placed under arrest without incident.

Ajhawn Wallace, 20, of Lakewood; Lamont Williams, 21, of South Toms River and Rashawn Jones, 23, of Brick were all charged with the unlawful possession of a handgun.

Meredith and Craig were also charged with possession of a handgun in addition to their warrant.
