Streets Reopened in Downtown Toms River

Street that were closed much of Monday as crews repaired an accident left over from Sunday morning, have reopened.

Police spokesman Ralph Stocco said Water Street and surrounding roads have reopened as of 2 p.m.

The Asbury Park Press reported that the Sunday morning accident resulted in a downed utility pole that closed a portion of Water Street. The closure of streets as the pole was being repaired caused significant traffic headaches in downtown Toms River Monday morning as commuters tried to use the area as a shortcut to Route 166.
