Suspect in Alleged Motel Assault Indicted
Toms River man charged with three counts aggravated assault
A 33-year-old Route 37 man is facing three aggravated assault charges and one of criminal restraint as the result of an indictment voted by an Ocean County grand jury.
Waymon P. Young is accused of aggravated assaults on two women and one man on Jan. 1 in Toms River. He is also accused of criminally restraining one of the women.
Toms River Det. Randy Petrick said in January that the alleged incident was an altercation at a Route 37 motel, reported around 3 a.m. Jan. 1, as well as one at the Cedar Knolls Condominiums before 6 a.m.

At the motel, the victims, a male and female, were known to the assailant, who allegedly punched and kicked the individuals, said the detective. Both sustained substantial injuries to the head, he said.
Young is being held in the Ocean County Jail because he is unable to post $100,000 bail. If he is released, a judge has ordered him not to have contact with any of the alleged victims.
