A woman who authorities suspect sold drugs to a South Toms River man who overdosed and died has been charged in his death, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato announced Wednesday.

Jeana Ganun, 34, of South Toms River, has been charged in the May 29, 2013 death of Eric Mills, 27.

Mills was pronounced dead at 9:07 p.m. despite the efforts of police and paramedics to save him. An autopsy conducted the following day provided a critical piece of evidence needed to solidify the charge against Ganun, prosecutors said.

The medical examiner found the cause of death was a negative prescription drug reaction, according to Coronato's statement.

Ganun is the fifth suspected drug dealer to be charged in the death of a customer since Coronato began his term as prosecutor last year and began holding suspected dealers responsible in fatal drug overdoses. She was served with an arrest warrant at the Ocean County Jail, where she has been incarcerated since Dec. 18 on charges of false report to incriminate another, filming without consent another's intimate parts and endangering the welfare of a child.

She now faces charges of drug induced death and second degree manslaughter. Bail on the latest charges was set at $200,000 cash.
