UPDATE: Two Toms River Banks Are Robbed Friday Night

Police search for man who fled on foot

Toms River police responded to the TD Bank branch at 10 Mule Road for a report a report of a robbery late Friday afternoon – then, shortly after, another robbery occurred at the Santander bank branch on Route 37.

According to Chief Mitch Little, officers went to the TD Bank at 4:36 p.m., responding to a call that a man gave a note to a teller demanding money, then fled on foot. It was unknown how much money the man got the away with.

The suspect in the robbery is being described as a black male in his 20s, wearing a green jacket with his hood up, as well as a wool hat and sunglasses.

Then, At 6:30 p.m., police were called to the Santander branch at 190 Route 37 East for a report of a separate robbery.

Police Chief Mitch Little said he does not yet know if the two robberies are related.
