Teen Takes Jeep For Ride Around Castle Park Soccer Fields

Faces criminal mischief charges

A 17-year-old Toms River teen was arrested Saturday night after police observed him damaging township soccer fields with his vehicle.

Sergeant Patrick Dellane was in the parking lot of police headquarters, on Oak Avenue, when he observed a jeep driving in circles on the soccer fields next to Castle Park at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.  

The juvenile was released to his parent after being charged with criminal mischief, according to Police Chief Michael Mastronardy.

 Two other occupants, 16 and 17-year-old males, that were passengers in the vehicle were also released to their parents .
