Toms River Applauds Police Work In Nabbing Donut Shop Burglar

Facebook commenters, others are applauding Toms River police for nabbing a 36-year-old man connected to a donut shop burglary.

According to police:

On Feb 25, 2014 at 9:55 pm, police responded to TREC Advertising located at 808 Lowell Avenue for a Burglary. Upon arrival officers observed that a rear window was smashed and a suspect and gained entry. After rummaging through the establishment he left without removing any proceeds.

A short time later, at 12:34 am, police responded to the Spring Water depot at 203 Route 37 for an alarm. Upon arrival the front glass door was shattered however a secondary door prevented entry by the suspect. Officers were able to review surveillance video footage of the incident and put out a description of the individual

At 1:36 Patrolman PJ Gambardella located an individual in the area of Washington Street and Whittier Avenue matching the physical description and clothing worn by the person who attempted to gain entry to the Spring Water Depot. He was arrested on the strength of a $350 warrant out of Atlantic City.

The investigation continued by Detectives Pat Jacques and Detective Steve Bucci. They reviewed surveillance video from a Burglary that occurred on February 17, 2014 at 9:31 pm at OBCO’s Donuts located at 551 Fischer Boulevard. In that incident, the suspect was seen entering through a window and removing a cash register.

Based on their total investigation they charged Mr. Voltolino with the Burglary and Theft to OBCO’s Donuts. He is being held on $50,000 bail. The investigation is continuing into the other two incidents.
