Toms River Police responded to an armed bank robbery at the Chase Bank branch at 54 Highland Parkway just after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said.

A white male 5-foot-7, weighing 165 lbs, entered the bank and walked up to an employee, showed a handgun and "began to yell demanding money," Mastronardy said.

There were four bank employees and one customer in the bank at the time of the robbery, who were not injured, said Mastronardy.
