Dog Killed, Family Displaced And Home Destroyed In Bristol Court Fire

A fire that destroyed a residential structure has left a family without a home, and without their dog.

The fire occurred at 33 Bristol Court at 6:45 p.m., and was extinguished by firefighters from the Silverton and Pleasant Plains fire companies.

Seven residents were displaced including a husband and wife, four children and a fiancé of one of the children; none of the residents suffered injuries in the fire but their family dog was killed, according to The Asbury Park Press.

Firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions upon arrival. Fire suppression operations were conducted under the direction of Silverton fire company Assistant Chief Gary Tattersall.

The fire investigation is being conducted by Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention Inspector Kevin Esposito and the Toms River Police Department.

Severe fire damage occurred to the dwelling, and was posted as an unsafe structure.

Toms River Fire Company #2 also responded to the blaze. No civilian of firefighter injuries were reported.
