Toms River Investigates Allstate Fire

From Toms River police:

Police and fire units are investigating the Saturday fire at the Allstate Insurance building located at 1520 Route 37 east.

At around 3 p.m., flames were already visible from the southwest window of the buildings first floor. The fire soon spread to the second floor.

Fire companies that responded were East Dover, Toms River Company # 1 and #2, as well as Island Heights. The blaze was brought under control at 5:25 am. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and we remain on the scene as of 11:00 am.

Toms River Detective Thomas DiMichele is conducting the investigation along with the Ocean County Prosecutors Office Arson Unit and the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention. The fire response team was coordinated by Incident Commander, Chief Edward Storino. There were no injuries reported.

I was awaken to tomsriver p.d beating on door at 245 am ordering us to evacuate that the bldng 25 ft at most was on fire...so i grabbed my box of stuff i try to keep close..and tho i was thankful that we were told to leave in enough time iam lieing if i said i wasnt having a full blown anxiety attack when i got outside and saw a wall of flames and no fire truck in sight....and i realized that i was about to loose my daughter and i whole life again...i was lucky enough after loosing my house and everything my daughter and i owned in ortley to sandy and then almost again in a rental property in seaside a blk from fire to find this cute tiny home in a safe part of town. I was now faced with the reality i thought i was safe from.... guess what all of those emotions came rushing back and i collapsed to my knees and surrenderd....i give up i said i cant loose it all again i screamed i only jave half of the life i had before sandy but now i have all the FEAR !!!!!

was it 3 am that it was discovered, since they got it under control at 5:25 am....... the article said it was discovered at 3pm Someone needs to learn how to tell time....

So much for being"in good hands with Allstate" as that obviously wasn't the case on that morning! All kidding aside though, thank God that no one was hurt!
