Toms River Laundromat Robbed

Man wearing ski mask demanded money

The Wizard O Wash laundromat on Route 166 in Toms River was robbed around 9 p.m. Saturday night, police said.

A 24-year-old female employee reported to police that a male entered the store and demanded money, Chief Michael Mastronardy said.

The suspect, an approximately 20-year old-white male wearing dark jeans, a sweatshirt and a ski mask removed over $100 in cash from the cash register before fleeing on foot, said Mastronardy.

The victim was not injured in the robbery, which is being investigated by Officer Ryan Quinn, Detectives Louis Santora and Robert O’Neill and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.

@grace... Sounds like a question you should be asking the Township Comm and Mayor...I believe they approve the budget for hiring...just sayin....but then hire more Cops then people will complain about taxes...we are our own worst enemies. I agree though Town of over 100,000 and we do not have enough Police or First aiders for that matter.

When you live in a community that has a drug problem , that had gone unchecked , virtually unreported , and ignored , well folks ,the chickens are slowly coming home to roost . Just in the past 72 hours we have seen a woman mugged for her purse , and an armed robbery and that's just the things the media has wishes to share with us . One crime at 6:30 pm the other at 9pm and the holiday season is just starting . Our elected officials have failed us folks , and it becomes more apparent with evey passing day. Just a passing thought , Better to be judged by 12 then carried by 6 ! Happy holidays .
