Toms River Looking For Bank Robbery Suspect

At 12 noon, the suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note, demanding money

Toms River police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed the Sovereign Bank on Route 37 near Hooper Avenue Monday, police said.

At 12 noon, the suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note, demanding money. No weapon was shown, police said.

The suspect then fled the bank towards Cedar Grove Road on foot, police said.

The suspect is described as a white male, late 30s, approximately 5 foot 6 inchs, with a thin build.

The suspect was wearing a dark T-shirt, blue jeans, an unzipped sweatshirt and a dark-colored baseball cap.

The investigation is being conducted by the Toms River Police, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
