Toms River Man Arrested In Lakehurst For Having 'Pot Brownie' In Car

A 21-year-old Toms River man was arrested Saturday in Lakehurst for allegedly possessing a "pot brownie" in a car, police said.

Jamie Enright, 18, of Howell and James Bartz Jr., 21, of Toms River were arrested, police said.

According to Lakehurst police:

At approximately 1 a.m., Officer Patrick Nurthen stopped a 2013 Mazda for a "tinted-windows" violation on Route 37. When Nurthen approached the driver, Jamie Enright, he detected a strong odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Enright admitted to Nurthen that a "brownie" baked with marijuana was in the car. An investigation and subsequent search of the vehicle recovered a brownie wrapped in tin foil - which had the strong odor of marijuana - as well as a marijuana cigarette, and two pills identified as a Xanax and Suboxone.

Enright was placed under arrest at the scene.

Enright was transported to Lakehurst Police headquarters where she was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, and tinted windows. She was processed and released on a summons to appear in court.

Bartz was arrested at police headquarters after he admitted to officers the pills found in the vehicle were his.

Bartz was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (Xanax & Suboxone) and possession of marijuana. Bartz was lodged in the Ocean County Jail on $2,500 bail, with no 10 percent option, set by Judge Damian Murray.

@Marynary - pot is not LSD - the psychologist you speak of had more problems than pot addiction - there isn't a Wawa or high school parking lot that pot can't be easily obtained from while traveling, smoky windows or not - as for 'lame' arguments over hallucinogens, you haven't experienced one of my milk shakes yet - I call it the Gilmore giggle shake - a couple of sips and you'll see flaming boardwalks all over the place - however, an occasion bad trip will feature Vicari in swimming trunks standing next to a Burt Reynolds centerfold

I tried to have a conversation with you Mac because I thought beneath your court jester delivery you have a brain. But you refuse to speak factually and prefer to give childish examples and excuses. So to end my part in this I will simply state I do not feel Marijuana is as harmless and user friendly as you claim. I will agree that heroin is much more dangerous and though "pot is not" LSD it is still classified as a psychoactive drug.

classifications are strictly political to keep the traditionally lazy uninformed sheep that are always looking for a quick fix for everything in line - the only true gateway drugs are peer pressure and lack of personal self-respect - the substance being abused varies by individual - I don't doubt for a moment that pot is often used before real drugs but today many drug abusers start on pills first straight out of the family medicine cabinet - pot is not going to cause a physical reaction of desperation when or if it is unavailable – as for a factual conversation, pot and real drugs have nothing in common and while smoking anything will damage your lungs in time, it will not by itself cause one to become a hopeless junkie – lack of self-esteem has more to do with that happening
