Toms River Man Charged With Stealing Car After Speeding In Skyview Park

A 24-year-old Toms River man was charged Sunday with stealing a car after police saw him allegedly speeding through Skyview Park.

At 1:25 p.m., Ptl. Daniel Herr was on patrol in Skyview Park when he observed a 2002 Beige Audi A41 exit the parking lot at a high rate of speed.  A license plate check revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Lakewood Township on April 28.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted on the car in the area of Bay Avenue and Alden Road.  The driver, Jameer Crudup, 24, of the 700 Block of Bay Avenue in Toms River, stated that he borrowed the car from someone he only knew as “JK.”

He was placed under arrest and charged with possessing a stolen vehicle.  He was also charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.  He was released on $2,500 bail.
