Toms River Man Gets 9 Years for Heroin Distrbution

Toms River man sentenced on charges stemming from five arrests

A Toms River man was sentenced Friday to nine years in prison for numerous charges relating to the possession and distribution of heroin.

Shondale Latimer, 36, will not be eligible for parole for 42 months, the Ocean County Prosecutor's office said.

The sentencing is the result of a guilty plea by Latimer on March 12, 2012 to heroin possession, but between then and his original sentencing date โ€“ July 2012 โ€“ he picked up several additional charges which delayed the process, officials said.

Ultimately, Latimer pled guilty again on Aug. 26, 2013 to heroin distribution and three separate counts of possession with intent to distribute heroin.

Latimer's sentence includes charges stemming from five arrests between Feb. 2011 and Dec. 2012.
