Toms River Man Indicted on Credit Card Theft Charges

Grand juries hand up indictments

A Toms River man fraudulently obtained use of a woman's credit card and used it to make purchases in Lakewood and Brick, authorities said.

Aris J. Norwood, 27, of Crescent Court was indicted last week by an Ocean County grand jury on a theft by deception charge as well as three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card.

Norwood charged more than $500 in the victim's name from July 23 to Aug. 16, the indictment states, on items and services from Hertz Rent-a-Car in Lakewood, Best Western in Lakewood and Quicky Discount Oil in Brick.

He was released on a summons.

• Erik C. Santiago, 30, of Anthony Avenue on stalking and arson charges.

Santiago is accused of starting a fire at a Bernice Court home Feb. 12 with the intention of destroying a 20-foot cabin boat, the indictment states. 

He also is charged with stalking a Toms River woman from Jan. 20, 2011, to Nov. 23, 2011.

Santiago is free on bail.

• Jorge Hernandez, 21, of Vanada Drive on a weapons charge.

Hernandez was arrested Nov. 24 and accused of having metal knuckles with a springloaded knife blade. He was released on a summons.

• Victoria L. Plasse, 21, of South Plainfield on a drug possession charge. 

Plasse was arrested Sept. 19 in Toms River and accused of having suboxone, a prescription drug. She was released on a summons.

• Nicholas J. Rizzi, 46, of Winding River Road on a shoplifting charge.

Rizzi is accused of stealing more than $200 in Gillette razors from the CVS Pharmacy in Toms River, the indictment states. He's free on bail.

• Jessica L. Stout, 30, of Eleventh Avenue on a theft charge. 

Stout was arrested Dec. 23 and accused of withdrawing money (more than $200 but less than $500) on a relative's TD Bank debit card without consent. 

Stout posted $1,000 bail Dec. 26.
