Toms River Man Pleads Guilty to 6 Drug Dealing Charges

John L. Williams also facing sentencing on eluding charge, plus additional charges in Monmouth County

A Toms River man has pleaded guilty to six charges stemming from a drug dealing bust in 2012.

John L. Williams, Jr., 48, entered the guilty pleas Tuesday before Superior Court Judge James M. Blaney.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred in Toms River Township on Sept. 27, 2012, when police arrested Williams for possession with intent to distribute both power and crack cocaine, heroin, 95 oxycodone pills, 11 suboxone films and five Xanax pills, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday. Williams entered guilty pleas for each of the offenses.

Also seized from Williams at the time of his arrest was $2,556 in United States currency, the prosecutor's office said.

Williams has another court date pending for sentencing in an additional case for which he was found guilty by a jury in March. In that case, Williams was found guilty of eluding police.

Williams is now facing eight years New Jersey state prison with a three year period of parole ineligibility. Additionally, he is facing a potential of five to 20 years on the second degree eluding charge with up to two and a half to 10 years of parole ineligibility.

Sentencing is presently scheduled for Friday, October 10, 2014 before Blaney, said Al Della Fave, prosecutor's office spokesman.

Finally, Williams is facing a violation of probation charge in Monmouth County Superior Court on Aug. 1 for a separate and distinct drug conviction, Della Fave said.
