Toms River Police Arrest Man Linked to Car Used in Burglary

Farmingdale man facing burglary, theft charges

Police in Toms River have arrested a man in a burglary after releasing a photo of a suspect vehicle.

Gerald C. Snyder, 31, of Farmingdale, was initially being lodged in the Ocean County Jail after being arrested for a residential burglary that occurred Jan. 7, according to police spokesman Ralph Stocco.

In the burglary, a door was kicked in at a Morris Boulevard home sometime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Police later asked for the public's help in identifying a red BMW that was suspected to have been involved in the crime.

Chief Mitch Little expressed thanks to local residents who sent in tips on the case.

"Chief Little also would like to thank the Howell Township Police Department for their assistance," said Stocco. "Their help was invaluable in the apprehension of this subject."

Snyder has been charged with burglary and theft. His bail has been set at $50,000. He was no longer being held in the jail on Tuesday, according to a check of jail records.
